What You Should Know About CoQ10

Posted by : DrDivad | In : Nutrition

grandparentAccording to the Mayo Clinic, CoQ10 levels are reported to decrease with age and to be low in patients with some chronic diseases such as heart conditions, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, cancer, diabetes, and HIV/AIDS. Some prescription drugs may also lower CoQ10 levels.

The following sampling of drugs may deplete CoQ10:

  • certain anti-depressants
  • anti-psychotic drugs
  • cholesterol-lowering statin drugs
  • beta-blockers
  • anti-diabetic drugs
  • anti-hypertension drugs

Mayo Clinic, goes on to say that some studies suggest congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy are CoQ10 deficient diseases. One side effect of these prescription drugs is that they interfere with your body’s production of CoQ10. This depletion can be very serious in the elderly, because aging already depletes CoQ10 and a deficiency may result in Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.

Symptoms of CoQ10 deficiency include:

  • angina
  • cardiac arrhythmia
  • mitral valve prolapse
  • high blood pressure
  • stroke
  • gum disease
  • low energy — feels like you’re “running on empty”
  • weak immune system

He says most doctors don’t know that CoQ10 levels decrease as we age and it leads to disease susceptibility. Heart patients, diabetics, and almost everyone approaching retirement age critically need more CoQ10.

When purchasing CoQ10 you should always look for the Ubiquinol form.  Ubiquinone is more common but absorption is less 25%.

The Harvest is ALWAYS Bigger Than The Seed

Posted by : DrDivad | In : Self Help

Miracle of birthIt is true – whatever a man sows, this he will also reap, so lets all sow good seed and understand that our harvest is bigger than the seed we planted. An apple seed is smaller than an apple tree, but the tree will produce an abundant harvest.

Sow your seed carefully.

Let’s use words for example, as one type of seed. If you speak poverty language you may speak frivolously and use words like, “I can’t afford it” or the economy is bad” – well, you have planted a seed that is going to bear FRUIT bigger than those words!

What is bigger than a word – the EXPERIENCE of a word!

The good news is that it works on the flip side. If you speak words of prosperity, you are planting seed – you will reap PROSPEROUS circumstances.

Whatever you do, please do not underestimate the power of the seeds you sow every day.

In regards to what you hear – same thing. You may HEAR words of lack and limitation and think “Oh, no big deal”. But guess what – a BIG harvest of lack and limitation is manifesting.

On the flip side, if you hear words of prosperity and abundance, seeds are being planted and before you know it – you have yourself an abundant HARVEST.

In both cases, the seed is ALWAYS smaller than the harvest.

And the harvFamilyest is ALWAYS bigger than the seed.

For “God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7).

Hang in there and trust that you will see the fruit of your labor, your time will come and your life will flourish.

Make yours a blessed day,

Dr Dave

Advice For Fit and Healthy Seniors

Posted by : DrDivad | In : Health

Many people mistakenly think that memory loss, dementia, Alzheimer’s and Enjoy old ageother ailments are an inevitable part of the aging process. How many times have you heard an older person say, “Just wait until you’re my age and see how much you remember!” Or, “Seems as though I am at a different doctor’s office every other day. It’s no fun to get old.”

Does aging really have to be that traumatic both physically and mentally? Many people seem to believe that’s just the way it is and there is very little you can do about it. Not so…or at least it doesn’t have to be that way!

There are a number of ways to keep your brain sharp and your body in good shape as you age. Here are some ways to remain fit and healthy as you enter your “golden years”:

• Stay active – 10 – 20 minutes of moderate exercise each day (you can do three 5 minute intervals if that’s easier) helps to boost the amount of oxygen that reaches your brain. And that oxygen “rush” can help to improve your memory and your reaction time – something else that tends to slow down as you get older!
Regular exercise also helps to strengthen bones and promotes a healthy weight – benefits that can reduce your risk of diabetes and heart disease – two conditions that can also affect normal brain function.

A Canadian study concluded that when folks over the age of 65 engage in regular exercise, they reduce their risk of Alzheimer’s, dementia and a decline in mental functioning. This is especially true for women. Doctor Directed Weight loss provides 35 easy to do fat burning exercise videos you can do at home.

• Make sure your diet is healthy – This is as important for your brain as it is for your body. Whole grains, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and fish help keep your body healthy. Carbohydrates found in these foods, along with the omega 3 fats found in fresh fish, provide energy to the brain to keep it healthy. Doctor Directed provides you with hundreds of recipes along with a complete list of metabolism boosting foods.

• Exercise your brain by doing crossword puzzles, playing board or card games, reading and being with friends.

• Control stress – Another great benefit of exercise! Learn relaxation techniques like meditation and deep breathing. Stress produces a hormone known as cortisol, which can negatively affect brain function.

• Be aware that certain illnesses and medications can also have an effect on your mental health.

And remember… we’re always available to address any concerns you might have about your weight loss and nutritional needs! If you have decided you need to lose 10 pounds or 110 the Doctor Directed Weight loss program is your solution. Guaranteed weight loss providing complete easy to follow step by step instruction. All we ask is 7 – 12 minutes per day for your permanent fat loss.
