See if You Relate to the Questions/comments I have received about losing weight below…

- I surely agree with what you say. I am really hard on myself at times when I miss a workout or eat a cake at night; I give up since I ate that one piece of cake. But like you said feeling guilty is only going to make things worse.
- I was eating meals normally avoiding too much sugar, carbs, caffeinated drinks etc. But lately I am not able to keep up with this motivation. I want to go back to my original weight of 120 pounds. This would not only make me feel better on the outside but also give me sustained confidence. And I’m here for some help!
- I’ve always struggled with weight. My WHOLE LIFE. up and down yo you dieting …that’s me in a nutshell. my heaviest weight was 342…I haven’t been UNDER 200 pounds since I was a young-teenager.
- I’m in the same boat as you!! I’m 5′7″ 162pounds and i want to lose at least 15 in 2 months. My fiancé comes home in 2 1/2 months and i want to lose as much as i can!
- Hey everyone, new to the site. Long story short, started a diet in October got side tracked and gained 8 more pounds.
- Please help me. I can’t stop eating so much its like I’m always hungry. I even go to gym but even then I’m gaining weight!!!
- IM GOING INTO THE NAVY AND IM AT 29% BODY FAT…THE LIMIT IS 24%…..I HAVE THE CHOICE OF LOSING THE 4% OR GETTING MY WEIGHT DOWN TO 195, I AM CURRENTLY AT 244(YEAH iM F%$#@*)
- Many people consider the gym a place of recreation. A place to get into shape, improve their physical condition and relax their body and mind. A safe haven. A part of a daily routine. But for others, the gym is a scary place. A place where our innermost flaws are exposed and put on display for strangers to see. A place to be judged for our inadequacies. We wonder things like: Why are am I so fat? Why don’t I look like the fitness instructors? Why am I so uncomfortable in my own skin? So uncomfortable that we go through great lengths to conceal our true figures under layers of oversized clothing. When we walk around our heads are not held high. We scrunch down in the very back of step class and pray that no one notices us. We pretend like we know how many reps to do on the weight lifting machine but we really don’t. We saunter around the gym, aimlessly without a solid plan.
- No matter how desperately we want to reach our weight loss goal, something always happens. The disconnect between us and the gym. Going to the gym gets more difficult by the day. We dread going after work and on the weekend. So eventually……we just stop. And we make no progress with our physique. Next comes the guilt and disappointment. We feel guilty for breaking our resolution to lose weight and disappointment for giving up on ourselves. Disappointed that our jeans still don’t fit and that every time we look in the mirror we feel disgusted. That disgust eventually turns to anger. And anger turns into defeat. So we eat the fried foods and junk. We don’t even attempt to be active. We settle for sucking in our gut and wearing the tight pants with the buttons popped off. We accept being overweight because we are so far from our ideal weight. Why even bother.
- At some point we hit rock bottom and realize that we need to make a change. Fortunately, we don’t have to let our weight get the best of us. And there are other options outside of the gym. Many people choose to turn their home into a safe, comfortable place to lose weight and get into shape. It can be the place to start fresh and work toward our goals free from judgment and the stresses of the outside world.
- I don’t know if this is a frustration with weight loss per se, but my frustration with being overweight has been that I became invisible. People, men and women, will just let the door shut instead of holding it open…lots of little things like that. Plus once I overheard a guy referring to hanging out with me as ‘jumping on the grenade’. Nice.A$$hole.
- Mine is the weight loss is too darn slow and then once you do lose weight you are still flabby from excess skin. Especially around the stomach for those of us who have had babies. My belly button will never be the same, and I think I will have some skin hanging over on my stomach no matter how skinny I am. And that sucks!
- I am an 18 year old girl… I go to school and work and my hours are always so hectic, I feel like I never have time to work out or eat right.
- I want a more healthy lifestyle… and losing a little weight would make me feel better about myself. I honestly have no idea what to do, though…
- I am SO frustrated. It has been weeks now of exercising, eating correctly and I am not shedding any weight. In fact I am gaining weight.
The reason the above individuals can’t lose weight is because they have been relying on the wrong information.
Wrong information = Wrong Results = More Fat
Correct Information = FAT Loss = A skinnier healthier you!
Wrong information:
- Jogging is good for you: WRONG – it actually causes your body to store fat; along with any cardio or aerobic exercise lasting longer than 15 minutes.
- Eating low fat makes you lose fat: WRONG – fat is needed for your body to absorb many vitamins and minerals, eating low fat causes you to crave certain foods and you consume multiple calories.
- Diet soda and other diet foods with NutraSweet or other artificial sweeteners helps me lose weight: WRONG Again – Study after study shows that those who drink diet drinks actually gain weight. The reason your body reacts to the sweet taste and lack of calories by craving carbohydrates, you can only fight it so long and you give in = yo yo dieting.
